Guadalupe is the President of the loan group. She has a small grocery store and has worked in the same business for 20 years. She has six children, twenty-one grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. She first came to Sé Más for a $250 loan to fix a refrigerator in her store. She explained, “It is necessary to have working refrigerators to sell beverages during the hottest part of the year.” Since fixing her refrigerator she has used additional loans to stock her store with a more diverse selection of merchandise in order to attract more customers. Because of her increased revenue she says both her work and personal life have improved: her family has increased access to education and healthcare, and her income is much more stable.
